This notice applies to personal information collected through Monkeys Go Bananas and our website at monkeysgo.app.

What personal information do we collect and why?

Information collected automatically. When you use the game, the information we collect automatically may include information like your IP address, device type, unique device identification numbers, browser type, broad geographic location (e.g. country or city-level location) and other technical information. We may also collect information about how your device has interacted with the game, including which parts of it are used, and diagnostic information such as errors encountered while playing.

Information you provide. Certain parts of the game may ask you to provide information: for example, if you put a score on a shared board, that submission may include a display name selected in-game, a randomly generated identifier and a record of the game played. If you contact us, we will receive whatever you choose to send.

Who do we share my personal information with?

We may share personal information with:

• Third party service providers and partners who provide data processing services to us, or who otherwise process personal information for purposes described in this notice. We currently work with the following third party service providers: Railway (hosting) and PostHog (analytics and diagnostics).
• Any competent law enforcement body, regulatory or government agency, court or other third party where we believe disclosure is necessary as a matter of applicable law or regulation.
• An actual or potential buyer of the business, and their advisers, in connection with a sale or transfer of all or part of the business or its assets.
• Any other person with your consent.

Sales of personal information

We do not sell personal information for money.

We will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights, or (iii) where we have your consent. Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are operating and improving the game and keeping it working correctly.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.

Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. Our service providers, including those named above, operate infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere.

You may also opt out of analytics and diagnostics collection with the Anonymous usage switch in the game menu, or by opening the game with ?analytics=0 on the end of the address; if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as an opt-out. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time in response to changing legal, technical or business developments. When we update it, the date at the top of this page changes.
